08/29/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Baltimore, MD Aiden Basilone recently played at the All-Ripken Games in Aberdeen, MD. His top velocity was clocked at 51 mph. He has a tendency to short arm at times, but that can be cleaned up with good repetitions and J Band work. Defensively he is consistent with his strong arm being his best attribute. At the plate he is a really good situational hitter and consistently put the ball in play with runners on base. His strike zone awareness is advanced, drawing four walks over the weekend. Aiden's weekend was highlighted by a double and he also added three singles in gameplay. He rarely has an at bat that is not productive. He is a tough out which is a great trait for a hitter to have. Along with his obvious physical attributes and strong baseball IQ, he also displayed great enthusiasm and was a team player. These intangibles will keep him on any coach's radar for the foreseeable future.
