10/05/2016 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Aiden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. He shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball showed good arm side run. Breaking ball displays a 10/4 shape with gradual break. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes with all his pitches, changing speeds well with plus deception. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter and has improved his hitting abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Hands stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. At the plate, he was 4 for 7. At SS, he attacks balls with his feet as he works around and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works very hard, and is a great teammate.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Aiden is a 2019 switch-hitting SS/RHP that showed upside at the Recruiting Classic. At the plate, Vannucci showed a square stride and activated load with the hands from both sides and also displayed a quiet head throughout and flashed some extension from both sides. From the right side, Aiden needs to develop a timing mechanism to avoid jumpiness. The bat path is direct and bat speed is present with both strokes. Defensively at SS, showed good carry with a proper arm stroke on throws across the diamond. There is some rhythm and flashes of glove awareness and Vannucci will benefit from glove extension in the fielding position and development of more accuracy to go with the present arm strength. On the mound, Aiden showed a smooth arm stroke and worked inline and direct to his target after gathering in a proper balanced position. There is extension to go along with a square, controlled landing and Vannucci will improve by working to drive the ball down in the zone and avoiding getting uphill. After showing the ability to make adjustments and be coachable, the future is bright for this two-way player.

10/18/2015 - College PREP - Santa Rosa, CA Aiden is an athletic, switch hitting 2-way player as a SS/RHP. At SS, he shows active footwork and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He works around the ball fluidly, has smooth actions and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, he shows similarly from both sides of the plate. He remains patient with rhythm to load. Barrel is whipped to and through the zone as he connects and hits line-drives to all parts of the field. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path will help to increase pop off of the bat. On the mound, Aiden has a 3-pitch arsenal coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and free arm action. He has smooth separation, stays directional toward the plate and repeats his delivery well. He keeps his FB down in the zone (75-77 mph) which will result in a lot of GB outs. Slider is best off-speed pitch showing sweeping action complimenting his FB well. Changeup has some tail and will be a solid 'K' pitch. Aides is a versatile athlete (2019 grad) who still has a ton of time to develop his skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
