01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament AJ is a 2028 1B/RHP prospect that recently showed his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. At first, he starts in an athletic position on the balls of his feet. He works hard to keep the ball in front and square plays up. He has a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly on throws. He has an impressive arm and can make all the throws while staying accurate to his targets. At the plate, he starts in a crouched, closed stance and has a squared stride toward the pitcher. He stays controlled with his movements and has a firm-frontside with his lower half. He shows off good barrel control and has a compact swing while showing the ability to extend through contact. He is able to spray the ball to all fields and greatly improved on his previous exit velo with a mark of 79 MPH. He reached base in 2 of 6 plate appearances with a single and a walk. On the mound, he has a good presence and excellent poise. He has a simple starter step and does well to gather his balance while getting fluid, on-time separation. He has a full finish with his arm action and he does a great job of keeping his stride in-line to his target. He ran his FB up to 75 MPH and showed some arm-side run with a 2-seam. His CB exhibited sharp, 11-5 break and he does a great job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed. He struck out 2 in 3 innings of work and didn't allow a hit. With improved command, he should make great strides on the mound. Overall, AJ is an intriguing prospect that we are excited to see more of as he continues to develop!

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic AJ is a 2028 1B/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF East Coast Winter Classic. In the infield he shows athletic actions and active/efficient footwork. He creates good fielding angles and fields from a square fielding position with hands out front. Made accurate throws to all bases from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 79mph. On the mound he is relaxed and composed with a good feel for pitching. He works with good direction down the mound and lands in a good fielding position. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 75mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. In 2 innings of work, he punched out 3 hitters and only allowed 1 hit. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance with loose hands. He shows good bat to ball skills. Has natural pop in his bat. In live game action, he made hard contact and reached base 3 times with a HR and 2 singles. AJ passes the eye test and shows a desire to compete. With continued growth and development, we foresee AJ having a bright future on the baseball field.

09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Cleveland, OH Anthony is a talented 5ft 8/137 1B/RHP in the 2028 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions on the field. He has effective feet and shows good range around the bag. He centers his body to the baseball and presents a strong pocket. His exchanges are clean and gains a loose 3 qtr. arm slot. Feeds are accurate and online. Also shows ability to pick the low throws from his defenders. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber well and shows a quick arm. His FB pounded the zone at 72-4. His CB shows sharp late break at 60-2. His CH was low in the zone at 68-9 with cutter movement. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and uses a short stride. He is on-time with the pitch and stays inside his feet well. Hits off a firm front side and uses a direct path for line drive production. Overall, a must follow in the 2028 class.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
