09/30/2018 - College PREP - Las Vegas, NV Alan is a lean, wiry player who shows impressive positional versatility. He is advanced defensively behind the plate and receives well to earn strikes for his pitchers. He displays a big target and stick the ball with a stiff wrist. His feet and hands are quick to exchange and release to post low pop times (2.15 seconds) to second base. At first, he stays low to field and works well around the bag to receive. At the dish, he uses the whole field with a level path and a balanced swing. He extends through contact to drive the ball in to the gaps after delivering the barrel. Incorporating his lower half more will result in more extra base hits. Alan is a player we want to continue following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
