02/24/2013 - College PREP - Long Island, NY Aldor is a solidly built OF who excels at the plate. Offensively, he shows an athletic/closed setup, no load, and good balance. He has a strong presence and has quick hands, getting the barrel to and through the zone with authority. He makes hard contact with the ability to use the whole field. Getting more of a load will help with consistency as well as help to improve power at the plate. Defensively in the OF, Veras displays quick and active footwork, as he moves well to get behind fly-balls. He takes a quick 1st step, which help him to take the correct angle to the ball. Quickening his exchange and a long toss program will help to improve arm grade and increase velocity. As only a 2015 graduate, Aldor has ability and with minor improvements, can make an impact over the next couple of years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
