07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Alex continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays proper footwork and moves well laterally. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground with his quick / athletic feet. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He loads well and utilizes his lower half well with power showing best to the pull side.

04/09/2017 - College PREP - Bartlett (Memphis), TN Alex is an athletic, lanky built SS built prospect who has good upside and graduates in 2019. As a right-handed hitter, Alex has a square stance with his weight in the front of his stance. He has fluid rhythm and takes a short stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Alex has a direct swing path producing solid, square contact. He has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Alex plays with quick, active footwork and agile body control giving him the ability to cover good ground. He has an aggressive approach and fields the ball in a low, athletic position with a firm glove. He has a clean exchange leading into a quick release. He plays with momentum through the baseball and his throws are accurate with good carry. Overall, Alex has skill on both sides of the ball and good potential to get even better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
