01/22/2023 - National Showcase - Bothell (Seattle), WA Alex is a talented SS/RHP who will graduate in the 2027 class. In the field, he has active feet and gains an athletic fielding position. He has a quick exchange and uses a ¾ slot for his release. His feeds are accurate across the diamond with life (75 velo). Shows solid footwork around the bag and his feeds are advanced for age. Working to field out in front will allow his to read hops. On the mound, he operates with a 3 -pitch mix from a ¾ slot. He stays tall in his delivery and flashes the ability to stay at the knees. His FB sat 70-1 and his CB sat 55-6 with 11-5 shape. His CH was 61-2 with deception. Working to stay closed in his landing will allow him to stay directional to his target. At the plate, he generates hard contact (71 exit velo) with proper extension. He can use the entire field when he allows the ball to travel in the zone. Overall, Alex has a promising career and scouts are eager to see his continued development at future events.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
