08/30/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Cooperstown, NY Alex Friedman is a SS/OF that recently played at the All-Ripken Games in Cooperstown. On the mound his fastball was clocked at 57 mph and he complimented that with a 49 mile per hour breaking ball that had late break to it. Defensively his accurate arm and shore hands are two traits that stood out the most. At the plate he simply puts the ball in play virtually every time. His bats speed is evident which is why he can be labeled a power hitter, and he was able to pick up a double in the process. He also added one more single to that as well as drew 2 walks. So he is a solid hitter with the great combination of strike zone discipline as well as power.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
