01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Alex is a OF/RHP in the 2023 class. In the field, his feet work well and covers his defensive zone well (7.27 runner). Stays square to the baseball and presents his glove properly. Works through the ball with a clean transfer. Uses a high ¾ release to make strong (80 velo) and accurate feeds back to the dirt. At the plate, he is a strong hitter (87 exit velo). Gains proper separation and his timing is smooth. Stays inside his feet well and attacks the back of the baseball. Shows pull side pop with future power projectability. Alex did not pitch due to rain on day 2 of the event. Overall, Alex is a player who can help a college roster.

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Alex is an OF/RHP prospect who showed well during the All-Region Tournament. At the plate, this RHH shows a good feel for the barrel and drives through well with his lower half, producing loud contact. In the field, Alex covers ground well and fields in an athletic position. He creates momentum on his throws and keeps them accurate to his target. On the mound, Alex gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, finishing with a controlled landing. Alex operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 64-65mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Alex is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

08/13/2021 - Baseball Factory Summer Classic Alex continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap to gap. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-77 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/18/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Omaha, NE Alex is a tall OF/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Alex shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line through his target. Long tossing can help Alex build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth to load and gets good extension through the ball, producing solid contact. Alex can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Alex gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and finishes square to the plate. Alex shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-63mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 69-71mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Striding inline toward the plate can help Alex improve his pitch command. Overall, Alex is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Alex is a tall OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season Prospects Tournament. In the field, Alex takes a quick first step and works behind the ball well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he works to make accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Alex build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance with comfortable hands. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He displays plus barrel control and produces great gap to gap power. Alex can create more consistent contact by working though a shorter swing. On the mound, Alex gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and keeps his pitches around the zone. Alex shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph. Breaking ball sits from 63-65mph with 11-5 break. Striding inline toward the plate can help Alex improve his pitch command. Overall, Alex is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
