Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

01/14/2022 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex(Ages 14-18) Alex is a 2B/RHP in the class of 2025 out of Pierre Part, LA. At 2B, he shoes active footwork with a quick first step to help him create good angles to the baseball. He fielded the ball in a low athletic position with good momentum working through the ball. His exchanges were clean with a short arm action to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, he did a good job of keeping his head and eyes quiet in his swing. This allowed him to make consistent contact to the entire field with a purpose. On the mound, he threw the baseball with intent and worked in a good direction down the hill. He had a 3 pitch mix of fastball (64 mph), breaking ball with 10/4 action and a change up with slight sink. Alex could benefit from programs/drills such as bands, arm path, long toss, strength training, extension hitting, speed & agility.

11/14/2021 - All-In Membership - New Orleans, LA Alex is 2B/RHP in the class of 2025. In the field, he shows active footwork and the ability to cover some ground. Does a good job creating momentum to throw and throws are on line and accurate. At the plate, he starts in a square and athletic stance. Does a good job getting into a repeatable launch position. Backside gets through the baseball. Shows off a line drive approach with help from getting his barrel on plane early. On the mound, he shows repeatable mechanics. Throws 3 pitches at 3 speeds to help keep hitters off balance. Best pitch is his fastball with tailing action and up to 62 MPH. Alex is a good player that we hope to see again in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
