07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC AJ is an athletic 3B who will graduate in 2028. At 3B, he displays solid infield actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body, showing good body control. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 2 for 4 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, AJ has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
