Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

08/11/2024 - National Showcase - Colorado Springs, CO Alex is a versatile player in the 2025 graduating class, demonstrating strong abilities both as a 3B and a RHP. Defensively at third base, he showcases excellent footwork and range, consistently fielding balls out front and effectively picking out hops. His throws are on-line and accurate from multiple arm slots, with an arm velocity reaching up to 86mph, which adds to his defensive reliability. At the plate, he hits from an open stance and separates his hands. Utilizes a strong lower half turn to generate power. His approach results in hard contact to all fields, making him a well-rounded offensive contributor. As a right-handed pitcher, Alex brings a promising arm with clean mechanics and a solid pitching repertoire. His ability to transition between pitching and fielding roles effectively showcases his versatility and potential. With his well-rounded skill set and continued development, he has the potential to make a significant impact on the baseball field.

02/19/2024 - National Showcase - Parker , CO Alex is a 2025 3B/RHP prospect that recently showed his skills at the National Showcase in Parker. At third, he has very sure feet and makes easy movements to the baseball. He gets in a low fielding position and does a great job of fielding with firm hands. He showed off a good backhand and the ability to make the long throw across the diamond. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate throws from multiple arm slots to his targets. At the plate, he starts in a squared stance and has a short stride with a good load. His hands are comfortable and he is able to attack the baseball with balance and a lower half that works through the baseball. He showed off impressive hips and a strong finish through contact. He was able to spray line drives to all fields. On the bump, he flashes the ability to throw and with some refinement could develop good feel for the position. He has a solid stride length and works hard to finish with good extension over his front side. He ran his FB up to 76 and has the skills to throw the pitch for a strike. Overall, Alex is an exciting prospect that we are looking forward to seeing more of as he continues to develop!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
