11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Alex is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training & Competition in Arizona. In the field, Alex shows smooth footwork with good first step quickness. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, creating good carry through his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Alex make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and strong line drives. Alex can barrel up more baseballs by working on his pitch selection. On the mound, Alex gathers over the rubber and works inline toward the plate. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 62mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits at 54mph with 10-4 break. Loosening his arm action can help Alex improve his pitch command and velocity. With six more years to develop, Alex has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
