03/25/2018 - College PREP - Mill Valley (San Francisco), CA Alexander is a tall, lean built catching prospect who has a well-rounded skill set. Behind the plate, Alexander has a low setup and presents a solid target. He moves smoothly with good body control. Alexander receives the ball with soft hands and sticks it on the corners. He has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. Alexander has good momentum through his release showing strong, accurate throws down to 2B. Offensively, Alexander has a square setup with good balance. He has a solid load with a long stride as his lower half leads his swing. Alexander gets good extension with a long swing path. He has the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. He is a contact type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. Overall, Alexander is a hardworking catching prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
