12/04/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Alexander is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to add throughout. In the OF, he starts with a pre-pitch routine and plays with good effort. He made accurate throws into infield from an over-the-top arm slot with an arm velocity up to 81mph. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. Starts with a clean leg lift and does a good job of using his lower half to generate power. Works with good direction down the mound and lands square to his target. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 70-74mph with plus command, a 12/6 shaped breaking ball, and a slider that he throws from the same window as his CB. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and open stance. Has a simple and repeatable swing. Smooth timing to his load, with knob to C, and gets his rear hip through to contact. A short barrel path enables him to make square contact to all fields. With 3 1/2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

01/21/2022 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (MS) Alexander is a 2026 OF/RHP out of Van Alstyne, TX who continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth/fluid actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active but needs work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point and has a smooth delivery. Fastball showed a range of 62-64 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight tail. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Alexander as he enters his 8th grade baseball season.

12/04/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Alexander is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2026. A young/developing player with some strength present and plenty of room to develop throughout. In the OF, showed ability to track balls with fluid/active footwork. Creates good angles to his glove side. He fields from an athletic/square fielding position with a good glove angle. Made accurate throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with good momentum towards target, and an arm velocity up to 76mph into infield. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with a short/square glide step, with a small hand load, and takes an aggressive swing. Flashed athleticism in his swing as he made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 69mph. On the mound, he separates his hands on-time and showed a loose/clean arm stroke with good extension out front. He lands square to target and gets his chest over his front knee. He challenges hitters with a FB that sits 64-67mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with early break, and a changeup with plus command that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was best pitch during his bullpen session. Alexander is a coachable kid who made adjustments during his bullpen. As he continues to develop and mature, we this 2-way player making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
