06/21/2024 - College World Series Experience - Session 2 Alexander is an LHP/OF who recently performed at the BF Omaha Experience. Scouts enjoyed his positive attitude and how hard he worked on his game during the week. In the OF, he made all the routine plays with ease and was in position to be on time to field the baseball. On the mound, He shows excellent hip engagement to the plate and stays on the target with his eyes. Fields his position well and backs up bases. FB sat 60-1 and his breaking pitch drops well at 47-50. At the plate, he creates consistent contact while showing great discipline. In game action he drew 3 BB’s and collected a hit in 6 plate appearances. Overall, Alexander made solid strides during the week and made adjustments.

12/03/2023 - National Showcase - Honolulu, HI Alexander is a lean LHP who will graduate in 2027. On the mound, delivery is sound, repeatable, allowing his arm action to work loose and free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 63-64 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Alexander has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
