06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament Alvaro continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the All-State event. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will improve as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (87 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting abilities are solid through a tall setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Alvaro is a 2026 3B/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 3B, starts on the balls of his feet, with smooth footwork, and works through the baseball. Good 1st reads enable him to close distance on batted balls and fields from an on-time fielding position. He showed soft hands and has a 2-hand transfer. He gets rid of the ball and keeps working towards his target. Made accurate throws from an over-the-top arm slot with an arm velocity up to 84mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and has a loose/clean arm stroke. He gets a good glove tuck and rotates to his target. A 3-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 75mph with good movement, an 11/5 with good command, and a developing changeup. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and square stance with high hands. Has a controlled load, with activated hands, and hits into a firm frontside. A flat barrel path enables him to hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph during BP. During the games, Alvaro reached base 4 times with 2 singles and 2 base on balls. Overall, Alvaro is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

09/25/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Alvaro recently impressed scouts with his actions in the field and on the mound. This 3B/RHP plays well above his 2026 grade and should make a contribution to his high school team this spring. On the mound, his 6’1 frame looks the part. He has life coming out of the hand and he gets downhill. He has simple and repeatable mechanics and is around the zone with his high ¾ slot. His FB topped at 78 and showed sinking action. His SL sat 66-9 with 10-4 shape. His CH displayed tailing action and sat 70-2. In the field, he moved well from side to side and his feet are effective. He has pocket feel and keeps his eyes behind the baseball. Has a clean arm circle and throws the top of the baseball. Working through the ball and sinking his hips will allow him to create more momentum to his targets. At the plate, he simply finds the barrel. He has line drive production and creates hard contact. Uses a direct path and his body is in sync with his swing. Overall, this freshman has a very bright future on the diamond.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Alvaro is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training in Arizona. In the field, Alvaro gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Alvaro improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is on time getting into a small load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact to his pull side. Alvaro can improve as a hitter by attacking the ball more aggressively. On the mound, Alvaro gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Alvaro shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph. Changeup sits from 45-47mph. Extending through his release more can help Alvaro improve as a pitcher. With six more years to develop, Alvaro has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Alvaro is a versatile 3B/RHP prospect who has a talented skill set. As a right-handed hitter, Alvaro has a square setup with a firm front side. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Alvaro stays athletic through his swing and is developing bat speed. He has an aggressive approach and jumps on pitches in the zone. Alvaro has the ability to spray the ball to all field. In the field, Alvaro plays with effective footwork and covers good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic position. Alvaro has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are consistent with online strength across the diamond. Alvaro also shows a smooth backhand. On the mound, Alvaro attacks the strike zone and pitches to contact. He shows smooth mechanics throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. Alvaro stays square to home plate and can benefit from a longer stride. He does a nice job rotating towards his target as he finishes. Alvaro commands his fastball working down in the zone. Overall, Alvaro is a well-rounded prospect who has potential to get even better.

10/14/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Pasadena (Los Angeles), CA Alvaro is a young, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Alvaro has efficient footwork, presentable hands, and he tracks the ball into his glove well. He centers properly, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy and momentum across the diamond. On the mound, Alvaro stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a clean arm circle, and he separates on time. He gets good extension, has a proper landing, and throws strikes. Offensively, Alvaro stands in athletically, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He works the ball gap to gap, he can hit to all fields, and flashes strength in his barrel. Overall skills can get better if Alvaro can work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
