2022 Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Amir is a 1B/RHP prospect who showed well during the Academic All-American Tournament. In the field, Amir shows fluid footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistent with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and engages his lower half well. He works through a direct swing with plus bat speed, driving the ball from gap to gap with authority. On the mound, Amir gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline toward the plate and extends through his release, finishing square to his target. Amir operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at at 71mph. Breaking ball sits from 52-54mph with 12-6 break. Changeup sits from 55-56mph with sinking action. Overall, Amir is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
