07/21/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD AJ continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities are outstanding with excellent power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line carry (90 mph velocity) to his target. AJ has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

07/25/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frederick, MD Andrew is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to develop. In the OF, he starts with active/efficient feet and ability to cover ground in all directions. Creates good fielding angles as he works behind/through the ball. High catch on flyballs with active throughout process. Good gather off the left foot with a clean transfer and long/loose arm action. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with accurate/on-line throws into infield. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher has long levers and a projectible frame. He gathers over rubber and coils into his rear hip. Works with good direction and separates his hands on time. Repeatable delivery with good life to his pitches. Attacks hitters with his FB that sits 82-85mph with some movement in the zone, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. A right-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and square stance. Simple and balanced swing, with intent in swing, and good extension out front. Flat barrel path as he made hard contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity of 85mph during BP. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
