01/18/2013 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Bandstra continues to show as a 1B but for the first time on the mound as a LHP and has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front, improve foot speed, and play through a low approach to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Andrew shows a balanced, open setup with rhythm. Hands work through a level swing path and he makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers continue to improve as he learns to use lower half more. At the event, he was 1 for 5. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-70 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable.
