12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Holiday Classic (HS) Andrew is a dedicated 2027 catcher who worked hard to refine his skills at the Baseball Factory West Coast Holiday Camp. Behind the plate, he presents a low target with an easy sit, tracks pitches well, and keeps his thumb under the ball to maintain strikes, making him a pitcher’s favorite to throw to. He recorded a best pop time of 2.3 seconds from a high three-quarter arm slot, and his throws are consistently on the first base side of the bag. Although he needs to improve his blocking to further elevate his game, his overall defensive foundation is solid. As a left-handed hitter, Andrew starts with a tall stance and high hands, generating natural juice in his swing. He made hard contact during live game action, recording a double, a single, reaching on an error, getting hit by a pitch, driving in an RBI, and stealing two bases. As a sophomore, Andrew has a bright future ahead, and his upward trajectory will continue with more growth and development.

08/25/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Missoula, MT Andrew is progressing well on the diamond after his recent showcase with Baseball Factory on 8/25/2024. Behind the plate, he utilizes a quick exchange to create a pop time of 2.24. Along with this, he is staying active with his footwork & creates good set up to receive the baseball. At 3rd base, he incorporates pre pitch movements towards the baseball & quick footwork throughout the play. Additionally, he stays low to the baseball which helps him create a quick exchange & accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate, he maintains a balance set up in his swing & creates good bat speed thus resulting in an 84 mph exit velocity off the bat. Also, Andrew stays consistent through a line drive approach with flashes of power towards the pull side. Overall, Andrew is a prospect with potential in the 2027 class with versatility on the baseball field.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Andrew is a 2027 RHP/3B who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 3B, he starts in a good ready position and tries to create fielding angles. Showed good hands as he fields out front and has good glove actions. Made accurate throws across the diamond from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 69mph. On the mound, he has a confident mound presence and is composed. He gathers over the rubber, with a good rear hip coil, and works with good direction down the mound. Attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 63mph with good command, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and square stance. Has a good setup and is centered at contact. Hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph during his round of BP. At the event, he reached base 4 times with 2 singles, a base on balls, and was hit by a pitch. Overall, Andrew is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/14/2022 - All-In Membership - Missoula, MT Andrew is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. In the field, Andrew shows active footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into a low position and fields with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate/on-line throws to his target. Working on his foot quickness can help Andrew make more plays. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and leads well with his lower half. He generates fast bat speed through the zone and drives the ball to his pull side. Andrew can barrel up more baseballs by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. On the mound, Andrew gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and keeps his pitches around the zone. Andrew operates with a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Curveball sits at 52mph with 12-6 break. Slider sits at 58mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 53-54mph. Extending through his release can help Andrew improve his pitch command. Overall, Andrew is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
