02/24/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Pitching & Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Andrew is a hard working and talented 2024 LHP prospect that made several adjustments during the pitching and catching accelerated training weekend. On the bump Andrew keeps his eyes on his target, stays balanced over the back leg, and repeats his delivery. Continuing to separate on time and gliding toward plate will allow him to finish over the front side. Having a fluid arm stroke will help Andrew get on top of the ball and throw north to south. Andrew will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD Andrew is a coachable, and hard working player that made several adjustments to improve his skills during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Andrew starts in an open stance, and has a short neutral stride. He loads his hands back, and stays balanced through contact. He's aggressive on the fastball and has good bat speed. Attacking the inside part of the ball and keeping his head down at contact will prevent him from opening his front side. He uses his lower have but can me more consistent with his backside. Andrew can continue to do timing and pitch recognition drills to further along his development at the plate. Andrew will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/07/2017 - FDI Pitching and Catching Accelerated Training Weekend (12-14) Andrew is a coachable LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the FDI Pitching and Catching Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, this lefty strides in line to the plate and keeps the ball down in the zone. He shows a three pitch with his fastball topping out at 53mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 44-46mph with 1-7 break. Changeup ranges from 49-50mph with arm side run as he throws with fastball arm speed. Andrew can improve as a pitcher by maintaining center balance as he gathers over the rubber and by extending through on his release. With seven more years to develop, Andrew has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the mound.

09/24/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Scranton, PA Andrew is a 1B/LHP who will graduate in 2024. Defensively at 1B, he hustles hard from right to left and tries to get into a square fielding position. He's aggressive as he attacks the GB and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the hill, this lefty has a 3-pitch arsenal and picks up his target early. He drives his lower 1/2 off the rubber as he delivers from an over the top arm slot and works in line towards home plate. With the bat, Andrew shows a square setup and gets back into a balanced load. He swings on a direct path through the zone and consistently drives pitches with hard contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Play low
3. Develop soft hands
Pitching
1. Work downhill
2. Loosen arm action
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Be on time
2. Improve bat speed
3. Finish with extension

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
