01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Andrew is a 2022 1B/RHP prospect. He shows off good size. At the plate, he does a very good job of getting into a strong launch position. Does an excellent job of getting his barrel on plane early and extending through the baseball. Shows an advanced line drive focused approach. Lots of bat speed and late bat whip. Hit a very hard single through the middle of the field in game action. In the field, he does a good job of activating his feet with prep step. Fields from a low position with his hands out front. Does a good job of getting rid of the ball quickly on throws. On the mound, he does an excellent job of pitching ahead and commanding the strike zone. Showed feel for a CB as his secondary offering. Andrew is a talented prospect that we hope to see continued development from in the future.

12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Andrew continues to shine in his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American showcase. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 72-74 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows good mound presence and competes on the bump. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Andrew is a class of 2022 1B/RHP prospect. In the field, he shows accurate throws and quick exchanges. Showed good footwork and worked through the baseball. At the plate, he showed good balance throughout his swing. Had a very good lower ½ throughout the swing. Consistently barreled the baseball and had exit velos up to 87 MPH. Recorded multiple hits in game action. On the mound, he worked up to 80 MPH with his fastball. Showed clean mechanics and a loose arm action. Andrew is a well-rounded player that we hope to see again.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) This solid and dynamic 2-way prospect continues to shine. With the bat, Andrew steps into the box with a purpose and is ready to jump on first pitch FB's. He has great zone awareness and fires the barrel quickly to and through the zone, connecting and driving the ball with pop (exit velo = 90 mph). At 1B, he is aggressive to come and get the GB and funnels smoothly. He moves well around the bag and adjusts his feet quickly. On the bump, this righty mixes his pitches well keeping hitters guessing. FB has good movement showing sink & run. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with good action. He gets great glove-side lead and tuck and finishes complete. Cheripka just continues to prove that he's a very skilled 2022 prospect who will make an impact in this upcoming senior year.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Andrew continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with his baseball abilities. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. At the event he was 3 for 8 with a 2B. At 1B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

12/05/2020 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend Andrew is a coachable 1B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Offensive Skills Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and hits against a strong front side. He stays short through the ball and produces loud contact and gap to gap power. Overall, Andrew is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute a the next level.

09/26/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Andrew continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he continues to shine as he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/13/2020 - All-In Membership - Ruther Glen (Richmond), VA Andrew is an athletic RHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry (84 mph velocity) on his throws. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed range of 74-77 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He throws a slider that resembles breaking ball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Andrew has potential and will get looks from the college coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
