12/16/2023 - National Showcase - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Andrew is a strong, athletic OF/C who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are above average as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he utilizes his foot quickness (6.99 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry (85 mph velocity) to his target. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in 2.50 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he works to get rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he displays solid hitting potential through an athletic, crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Andrew has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
