Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Andrew is an extremely talented 2-way prospect as a C/RHP. He has loud tools and the ability to use them in games. He excels behind the plate with athletic receiving and blocking skills and a big arm (98 mph raw velocity) that produces accurate throws to 2B as low as 1.89. At the plate Andrew has a coordinated, connected right-handed stroke that is simple and productive. He drives the ball with authority and has some loft power to the pull side. Andrew is also a prospect on the mound where he has a solid 3-pitch mix. His fastball has some late life and lived in the upper 80s at this event. He also mixed in a curve and split that both showed promise and swing-and-miss pitches. Overall, this is a big-time prospect to keep a close eye on this spring.

10/03/2018 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Andrew is a coachable C/IF prospect who worked hard on his skill during his time at the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic. Behind the plate, Andrew shows active footwork and covers up well when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives the ball with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws to 2B, keeping them accurate with good carry through the bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an atheltic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to loud contact and solid line drives. Overall, Andrew is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into this, his sophomore season.

09/09/2018 - College PREP - Knoxville, TN Andrew is a lean, athletic SS/C who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.30. Behind the dish, he utilizes his feet well in working in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times show a range of 2.06-2.09 with accuracy and zip (88 mph velocity) on his throws. He displays a soft glove and sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front and he is a wall behind dish. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the level. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ground balls and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. With 3 years to further develop, Andrew has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
