11/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Andrew is a hard working C prospect in the 2024 class out of Maryland. Defensively, he displayed quick/active feet with the ability to receive in good positions/posture and with soft hands. His throw downs had clean exchanges with accuracy through targets. At the plate, he used a square stance with fluid timing to find balance and fire his hands through the zone to make hard contact with gap to gap power. Andrew continues to show improvements each time out and that is a testament to his hard work and we look forward to seeing him again.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Andrew is a coachable C/1B prospect who worked hard on his skill during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. Behind the plate, Andrew sits in an athletic stance and receives with a firm glove. He gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/strong through the 2B bag. He is smooth moving to block and centers the ball in the middle of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated in his load on time and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing with good extension, leading to consistent line drives to all fields. Overall, Andrew is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

03/08/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Andrew is a hard working 2-way player (C/1B) who continues to progress on the diamond. With the bat, this righty displays a square setup with centered balance. He tracks pitches into the zone and off of his barrel. Swing is compact/level to and through the zone as he connects and sprays line-drives. Behind the dish, he sits in with flexion and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. Transfer/exchange is clean with accurate throws to 2B - pop times now at 2.50. Continuing to strengthen his arm will help pop times to keep dropping. At 1B, he is aggressive and hustles into a square fielding position behind the GB. He presents his glove and gathers well. He also has plus footwork around the 1B bag and can adjust to throws up and down the line. This 2024 grad has a ton of upside with still a lot of time to progress to get to where he wants to be.

03/10/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Andrew showed improvements in many areas during his last workout with The Factory. He improved catching grades, lowered pop times (2.53 seconds), radar velo spiked (65 MPH), and offensive numbers improved. Behind the plate, Andrew tracks the ball well, he moves well laterally, and looks the ball into his glove. He has efficient footwork, hands are firm, and he throws with strength and accuracy to 2nd base. At 1st base, Andrew fields low and athletically, he has a presentable glove, and he gains momentum; throwing with accuracy to his target. At the plate, hitting and power improved to 38 and 32 respectively. He has a square set-up, good balance, and a level swing. Andrew has good bat speed and he can spray the ball to all fields.

07/14/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Andrew is a coachable C/1B prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the D.C. All Star Experience. Behind the plate, Andrew moves to block on time and keeps the ball in the center of his body. He presents a good target to the pitcher and makes a clean exchange to throw, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Andrew can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load well and works to barrel up the baseball. Andrew can improve as a hitter by shortening his stride to improve his timing. Overall, Andrew is a solid, young prospect who has continued to show steady improvements on the field.

03/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Andrew raised velocity to 58 MPH, catching numbers to 32's, and lowered pop times to 2.9 during his last workout. Behind the plate, Andrew has active feet, soft hands, and he has good flexion. He looks the ball in, uses his body to block, and throws with accuracy from a clean arm action to his target. At 1B, Andrew has good pre-pitch actions, he fields athletically, and delivers the ball with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Andrew has a square set-up, a short stride, and he swings a level stick. He puts the bat on the ball and can spray to all fields. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

09/23/2017 - FDI Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (12-14) Andrew is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and gets back into his load well. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to square contact. Andrew can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride to the pitcher and by working a smoother load into his swing. With seven more years to develop, Andrew has the time and potential to further progress his skills at the plate.

08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Andrew is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown. Behind the plate, Andrew shows efficient footwork and covers ground well when blocking balls in the dirt. He receives the ball with soft hands and has a clean exchange on his throws to 2B. Andrew can improve defensively by sitting in a lower stance to receive pitches. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half, leading to solid contact. Andrew can improve as a hitter by working to keep his balance in the center of his body in his stance. With seven more years to develop, Andrew has the time and potential to further progress his game.

04/02/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Andrew is a C/1B. Behind the plate, this catcher displays efficient footwork as he uses his body to block low pitches in the dirt. He stays low and works in a good direction as he comes up with a clean exchange to throw. At 1B, he fields GB's in a square fielding position. He takes solid angles to the baseball and makes accurate throws to his target. With the bat, Andrew presents a smooth rhythm to load. He stays back and takes aggressive cuts through the zone as he spray pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
