12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Andrew is a talented 5 ft 5/115 2B RHP in the 2029 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions at the West Coast Winter Classic. They enjoyed his energy, attitude and feel for the game. In the field, he shows a relaxed body movements and his feet are quick and active. Gains a quick 1st step and stays square to the baseball. The ball sticks to his pocket and he can create clean redirect actions. Arm works at 67 velo and has accuracy and carry. On the mound, he has a simple and repeatable delivery. He controls the run game well and has an awareness of situational baseball. He operates with a 3-pitch mix from a high 3 qtr. slot. His FB topped at 63 and showed cutting action. His CB shaped at 11-5 with gradual break. His CH has a natural slot and ranged 56. In his 1st outs, he has a clean 3 K inning. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance with comfortable hands. Gets into his load well and maintains body control. Stays balanced in all phases of his swing. Overall, Andrew has excellent starting points as he begins his baseball journey.

08/07/2023 - National Showcase - Houston, TX Andrew is a 2B/OF who will graduate in 2029. A young/developing player with some strength to the build and room to develop. In the OF, he shows active feet and ability to cover ground in all directions. Good 1st step reads enable him to work behind/through the ball with a high 1-hand catch. Fields from a square fielding position with a good glove angle. A loose arm action in back working into a 3/4 arm slot coming forward, with accurate throws and an arm velocity up to 62mph. At 2B, he works to center the baseball and plays low. His arm fits the position as he made accurate throws to first base. At the plate he hits from an upright and open stance. Shows smooth timing as he gets his hands separated and takes an aggressive hack. A direct barrel path allows him to hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 56mph. With 6 years of continued growth and development, we see Andrew having a bright future at the high school level and beyond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
