12/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Andrew is an athletic C/3B who is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off a soft chest. Receiving / blocking tools show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Pop times shows in the 2.15 range with accuracy / carry (83 mph velocity) on his throws. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 3 years to further develop, Andrew has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
