01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Andrew continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. This righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 80-84 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with tailing action. Control is excellent as he attacks hitters, throws strikes, and mixes his pitches well. He shows good mound presence and competes on the bump. Andrew has an upside on the bump and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with abilities.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City Andrew is a coachable 1B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skill during the Fall Classic at Pirate City. In the field, Andrew shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. Gaining ground on his throws can help Andrew improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Andrew can improve as a hitter by continuing to add strength. On the mound, Andrew gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, finishing with a controlled landing. Andrew shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 68-71mph with sharp 11-5 break. Striding square towards the plate can help Andrew improve as a pitcher. Overall, Andrew is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

08/11/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Andrew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Fastball shows a range of 73-76 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight arm side run. Slider is harder but resembles breaking ball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front and shows the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

03/31/2019 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Andrew is a RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, Andrew gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with a controlled landing. Andrew shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-65mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 69-73mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release can help Andrew improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He shows a smooth rhythm and takes a direct swing, leading to solid contact. Andrew can improve as a hitter by working more of a load into his swing. With three more years to develop, Andrew has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
