08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Andrew is an athletic MIF who has a high baseball IQ and plays the game hard every time he steps onto the diamond. Defensively, he works fluidly around the GB from right to left. Hands are soft/sure as he fields the ball out in front and funnels smoothly. Transfer/exchange is clean as he gets rid of the ball with accurate throws to 1B. He takes charge in the INF communicating well with his teammates and is always thinking a play ahead. As a hitter, this lefty steps into the box with an aggressive approach. Hands are quick as he squares the ball up with some pop, driving the ball back up the middle of the field (going 4 for 6 with 4 singles and 2 walks at the event). This solid athlete (2019 grad) has a solid skill-set that will only continue to progress as he matures physically and gets stronger.

03/19/2017 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Andrew is a lean/athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure but will benefit by presenting more out front. Athletic abilities are present through his feeds / turn of the double play. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power improving as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. Working to get stride foot down sooner will aid in improving hitting abilities. With 2 years to further develop, Andrew has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
