08/27/2017 - College PREP - Avon (Cleveland), OH Andrew is a talented middle infield prospect who has a well-rounded skill set and graduates in 2019. In the field, Andrew plays with quick, fluid footwork and takes the correct angles to cover good ground. He moves with agile actions and presents his glove as he fields the ball in a low, athletic position. He has a firm glove and clean exchange leading into a short, loose arm action. Andrew plays through the baseball with good momentum and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot showing consistently strong throws across the diamond. As a right-handed hitter, Andrew has a square stance with a firm front side and centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and square stride. Andrew has a direct swing path consistently landing his barrel to the baseball. He is a contact type hitter who has a middle of the field approach. Overall, Andrew has skill on both sides of the ball and plays the game the right way giving him a bright future on the diamond.

08/07/2016 - College PREP - Dublin (Columbus), OH Andrew is an agile 2B who will graduate in 2019. In the infield, he showed a good pre-pitch setup, playing with a low approach and taking good angles to ground balls. At the plate, he came with an aggressive approach, hitting the ball up the middle consistently. Mechanically he sets up athletically, taking a quick stride to the pitcher while getting his hands into a strong load position. Keeping his head still through his swing will help his ability to track pitches all the way in. With still room to mature physically and mechanically as a player, Andrew will be exciting to track as he gets older.

09/19/2015 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 14-18) Andrew starts from an athletic set up and utilizes a soft and square double tap stride with his hands activated in his loading mechanism. Andrew's balance and timing are good as he prepares to hit in the launch position. Rodriguez takes his hands on a direct path to the baseball and extends through contact. Developing more strength in the upper body and utilizing the lower half more in his swing will allow for more bat speed which will increase power and consistency of quality contact.

07/14/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Andrew continues to show as a very coachable player that is willing to make adjustments and has a solid feel for the game. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, he displays soft /sure hands and moves well laterally. He shows good instincts with defensive grade continuing to attack balls and play through with his body. At the plate, hands work direct and inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields through a solid line drive approach. He has abilities with time and room to continue to develop.

02/22/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Dayton, OH Andrew is a skilled, athletic 2-way player as a SS/OF. With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced setup with a solid base. He works back into a loaded position waiting for his pitch. Swing is level to and through the zone as he connects and hits line drives. At SS, Andrew shows active footwork and moves around the GB well. He presents and fields the ball out in front with a smooth transfer/exchange to throw. In the OF, he takes good prep footwork moving well on the balls of his feet. He takes solid routes/angles and works into position behind the fly-ball. He gathers well and fires accurate throws into his target. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Contact points
2. Front foot timing
3. Lower 1/2 drive
Infield
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Play through ball
Outfield
1. Lateral quickness
2. Secure ball with 2 hands

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
