12/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Chandler (Phoenix), AZ Andrew is a young third baseman with a tall/athletic build. At third base, Andrew has a good pre-pitch actions, a presentable glove, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He has fluid/active footwork, plays through the ball, and throws with accuracy and consistency across the diamond. Added range and continued arm strength, will only help defensive numbers get better. On the mound, Andrew has a loose arm action, good balance, and a full finish towards home plate. He has on-time hand separation, he gets good extension through the ball, and he finishes out over his front knee. Continuing to add arm strength, sharper off speed, and a looser arm action, will improve mound effectiveness. Defensively, this switch hitter has a square athletic set up from both sides. From the right, he has a simple set-up, a compact swing, and a short/direct barrel through the ball. From the left side, he loads well, stands in well-balanced, and can spray the ball to all fields. Offensive numbers can improve with better rhythm from both sides, more finish, and added physical strength.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
