09/19/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Hobbs, NM Andrew is a 1B who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame with some strength present and plenty of room to develop throughout. At 1B, he takes aggressive angles to baseball with the ability to make routine plays. He tries to center the baseball while keeping his feet active throughout the fielding process. Loose arm action as he throws from a 3/4 arm slot to second base with an arm velocity up to 72mph. He showed good bag awareness. At the plate, he hits from a tall and open stance. Good lower half rotation, with intent in swing, and ability to track to ball to bat. Made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph during his round of BP. Another year of development should enable Andrew to have a bright future on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
