08/05/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Andrew is a 3B/1B prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame stout build, with strong lower half, and room to add throughout. At 3B, he starts with a good prep step and works to center the baseball. Showed good glove angle to his backhand side. Tries to field the baseball out front. Accurate/on-line throws from a high 3/4 release point and an arm velocity up to 68mph to first base. At first base, he starts with a good prep step and active/efficient feet. Works to center the baseball and fields from an athletic/square fielding position with a good glove angle. Throws to second base were accurate and on-line with good momentum to target. He showed better at first base during his workout. At the plate, this right-handed hitter he hits from an even and upright stance. Starts with a short/square glide step and small hand load as he gets knob to C. Quickness to hands and ability to hit ball where it is pitched. A flat barrel path with fast bat speed and good extension out front. During his round of BP, he hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see Andrew having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Andrew is a young 3B/1B that shows great pop at the plate with an 88 mph exit velocity. Hitting, he sets up in a tall and square stance as he begins his load. He uses his lower half well creating fast bat speed with hard contact especially to the pull side. He shows the potential to be a solid gap to gap hitter. At 3B, Andrew works hard to the ball off the bat. He works to square the ball up and fields with a confident and clean glove making clean exchanges. His arm action is short and loose as he delivers the ball with accuracy and carry. Andrew is a young hitter with great power and will continue to develop, we look forward to seeing his progress.

11/22/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Andrew continues to show improvements in all his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/04/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Trenton, NJ Yother continues to work hard on his skills. Defensively at 3B, he has active prep and works fluidly right to left into an athletic fielding position. Hands are presented out in front as he tracks the ball into his mitt, gathers well and has a clean transfer to throw. With the bat, this righty shows a square setup with centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. He jumps on pitches he likes, hits the ball where it's pitched and sprays it to all parts of the field. Even more power is there with more lower 1/2 drive. Only a 2024 grad - Andrew has tools with upside and a lot of time to develop.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Andrew is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, he takes a good first step and shows quick footwork. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in a smooth load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-70 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Overall, Andrew is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he progresses.

07/29/2019 - National Tryout Plus - York, PA Andrew showed several upgrades during his time in York, PA. He ran his fastest 60 (8.6 seconds) increased velocity (64 MPH), and showed a spike in power grade to 42. At 3B, Andrew has active/efficient footwork, soft/presentable hands, and he centers the ball well on his body. He has a good backhand, a clean exchange, and he throws with consistency across the diamond. On the mound, Andrew has a clean arm circle and he keeps his eyes on target. He has good balance, a controlled landing, and he competes in the zone. At the plate, Andrew has a closed stance, a short stride, and good balance. He is a strong hitter with an aggressive swing and he works the ball gap to gap.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Andrew is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. In the field, Andrew gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. Increasing is lateral range can help Andrew improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with loose hands. He is fluid getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing and makes consistent contact to all fields. Andrew can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride towards the pitcher. On the mound, Andrew starts with a simple rock step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and stays inline towards the plate, finishing square to his target. His fastball tops out at 63mph. Lengthening his arm action can help Andrew improve as a pitcher. With five more years to develop, Andrew has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Andrew is a lean 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic / crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, displaying gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 4 with a 2B. At 3B, feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through a low approach. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 51-55 mph with arm side run. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. With 6 years to further develop, Andrew has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
