12/06/2009 - College PREP - Cedar Hill, TX Andy is a young, lean RHP, and SS who should only improve as he grows and matures. On the mound, Andy FB already touches 83 MPH, and his CB and CH show promise as well. Andy has a loose arm, smooth delivery, and good mechanics. As he continues to grow, and build arm strength his stock on the mound will rise. At SS, Andy has good body control, good pre-pitch routine, and he moves well laterally. Andy's hands work well and he does a nice job staying in front of the ball. If Andy can become more fluid, and follow through on his throws, his defensive ability could improve. Offensively, Andy has a good set up, good bat speed, and a level swing path. If he can work on his load, and work the ball to all fields, his game should become even more complete.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
