01/24/2015 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 14-18) Angel is a young ballplayer who shows potential to swing it at the plate. He displays simple quiet actions at the plate, starting with a square soft stride getting him to a strong hitting position with limited movement. Angel also shows active hands during the stride and load getting his hands to a strong position, maximizing his bat speed. To take the next step as a hitter Angel needs to continue to work on his contact points at the plate, and driving the baseball to all fields with authority.

12/14/2014 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Cora continues to work hard on his game. Defensively, he shows active footwork as he hustles into a square fielding position. Exchange is clean as he works in-line toward his target at 1B. Developing improved footwork on his approach to the ground ball will help to improve his defensive abilities. With the bat, this RHH shows a closed setup with good balance. He has a line-drive approach, connects and drives the ball. More extension through his finish will help to increase power. Only a 2018 grad - Cora still has a lot of time to develop his skills.

10/07/2012 - Interactive Video Program - Mt. Laurel, NJ Angel is a young, SS with a thin frame. Defensively, Angel has active feet, he covers some ground well, and he tries to keep the ball in front. He makes most plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a long / loose arm with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Angel has a square set-up, good balance, and a level swing. He has a middle approach, swings in decent rhythm, and he makes contact. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
