11/19/2023 - National Showcase - Bronx, NY Angelina is an athletic catcher who will graduate in 2027. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. She uses her body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in 2.99 range with accuracy on her throws. Times will continue to drop as she builds more arm strength. At the plate, she shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 4 years to further develop, Angelina has potential with time and room to progress her game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
