08/24/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - West Lawn, PA - PM Anthony is a thin, 2-way player that Catches and plays 3rd base. Behind the plate, Anthony has an okay set up, relaxed approach, and holds a firm glove. He centers the ball well on his chest when blocking and he takes good angles. Anthony has an okay exchange and throws with some accuracy to his target. Catching abilities can improve if Anthony can quicken his feet, loosen his arm action, and add arm strength. In the INF, Anthony is aggressive to the ball and he moves okay laterally. He has a soft backhand, he gets rid of the ball quickly, and throws accurately across the diamond. If Anthony can get his glove down sooner, and finish his throws, INF skills can improve. At the plate, Anthony has a level approach and he tracks the ball well. He has a level swing and he sprays the ball to all fields. Higher hands, more load, and better lower 1/2 will help offensive numbers improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
