07/16/2008 - College PREP - Santa Barbara, CA Anthony is a small, thin infielder that possesses adequate all around tools for his position. Defensively, he displays soft hands and is active with his feet on the ball at him, but needs to be more aggressive towards the ball. He has good body control and is quick with his double play transfers, and as possesses a very accurate arm. His arm strength will need a boost from a long toss program, but it is adequate from his position. Offensively, Anthony shows good bat path to the ball as he uses the entire field. He shows a good approach and understanding of hitting the ball where it is pitched. Anthony has limited line drive power, which could improve with a stronger load. Overall, he shows the skills that will make him a college player, but he will need to dedicate time and effort into a proven strength program.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
