Official Scouting Report

10/11/2023 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2027) Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Arizonia FR Fall Classic. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean presents out front. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Fastball showed a range of 73-77 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Manalapan, NJ Anthony is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. Tall frame athletic build with strength present. At C, he has active feet and presents a low target. Good lateral movement, with good blocking angles, and centers the baseball. Works thumb under, with a clean exchange, into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base. Arm velocity was up to 79mph and his best pop time was 2.17 seconds. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He gathers over the rubber, with a clean leg lift, and works with good direction down the mound. Throws a FB that sits 72-73mph with good command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth, and a changeup that he throws with FB arm speed with slight movement in the zone. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Relaxed setup, with smooth rhythm, and ability to deliver the barrel. A short barrel path enables him to hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we see Anthony having opportunities to play at the next level.

08/28/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Augusta, NJ Anthony increased radar velocity to 78 MPH and lowered his 60 time to 7.84 during his last workout in Augusta, NJ. On the mound, Anthony has good balance, on-time hand separation, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He has good size, a controlled landing toward home plate, and he throws strikes. At 3B, Anthony has a presentable glove, efficient footwork, and takes good angles to field. He covers ground, plays under control, and throws accurately with carry across to his target. Offensively, Anthony improved hitting numbers to 38's. He has a tall/open stance, good balance, and he swings on plane. He keeps his hands inside the ball, makes square contact, and shows solid bat whip through the zone.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Anthony is a 2027 C/RHP prospect who worked hard to improve his skillsets at the National World Series. Behind the plate, he has an easy sit, with an easy sway, and tracks pitches well. He gains ground on his throws to second base. Has a clean exchange as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 75mph and a best pop time of 2.3 seconds. Has a good spine angle on his blocks, with his chin tucked, and is quick to his feet. On the mound, he is composed on the mound and has a projectible strikeout pitch. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 67-71mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth, and a changeup. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and even stance with low hand set. He rotates his lower half well and gets his back hip through. Hit balls hard to the opposite field with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph during his round of BP. During the event, he reached base 4 times with 3 walks, and reached on an error. With 5 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

03/27/2022 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Bronx, NY Antony is an athletic C/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in 2.20 range with accuracy and carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 66-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop, Anthony has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
