Official Scouting Report

07/06/2016 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Anthony us a young, strong two-way prospect who shows good potential on the mound and as a position player. On the mound, Anthony displays a good feel for pitching already with a solid three pitch mix from an easy, repeatable delivery. He throws a curveball in the mid to upper 60's with good break and a deceptive changeup with the same arm speed as his fastball. His loose and free arm allows him to get good finish on his pitches and should allow him to rack up innings in the future. Working on getting on top of all his pitches will allow him to work down in the zone which will result in more GB outs At the plate, Anthony has a simple, mechanically sound approach that leads to him making consistent contact. He is aggressive hunting his pitch and looks to drive the ball. Overall, Anthony is a very intriguing, young prospect who we look forward to watching progress.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic Anthony is a focused, young player who works very hard and communicates well. On the mound as a LHP, Anthony is balanced, has good arm action, holds runners well and has a very good pickoff move. He can locate his fastball but needs to improve his ability to locate in the strike zone. To become a better pitcher, Anthony needs to improve his stride toward the plate and his extension when finishing his pitches. Defensively, in the outfield, Anthony has a good accurate arm, takes a good first step and displays the proper angle to the ball. He needs to improve his pre-pitch anticipation build arm strength, and foot speed. At the plate, Anthony has a quick bat and is pretty consistent in driving the ball back up the middle.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
