05/21/2023 - National Showcase - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Anthony is a 2025 LHP prospect from Parkville, MO. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has a clean arm action while throwing a 3-pitch mix. He does well to gather his balance over the rubber and keeps his eyes on his target throughout his delivery. He gets good extension through his release and stays squared to the plate while having a controlled landing. His leg drive is impressive and he commands all of his pitches in the zone with a good pace. His FB has some tail and he shows a lot of command away. He throws his SL with a good arm speed and it has 2-8 gradual break. He throws his CH with good FB arm speed and works it to both sides of the plate with command. At the plate, he starts in a squared, tall stance and gets a good load back with a squared stride to the pitcher. He keeps his hands inside the baseball and has a smooth on-plane swing path. He has a middle of the field approach and works the ball to all fields, squaring the ball up consistently. Anthony is definitely an exciting prospect to keep an eye on as he enters his junior year this fall!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
