09/12/2010 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Anthony is a young 3B with a heavy frame that shows projection as he continues to polish and firm up. Feet are active as he plays through the ball with his body but needs to work on a low approach presenting hands more down and out front. He plays hard and makes the routine plays with throws showing accuracy as he will benefit by getting on a long toss program to further develop more arm strength and carry. Offensively, Schabert shows a balanced approach as he loads well and makes consistent contact but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with grades improving quickly with instruction and adjustments. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. With 2 years to further develop, Anthony has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
