Foot speed has improved as ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. At the plate, shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing, stays inside the ball and utilizes all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 6 for 16. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Anthony is a young, tall OF/LHP that shows potential on the diamond. In the OF he shows quick footwork and works to field the ball square and on time with good glove presentation. His exchanges are quick as he makes momentum towards his target with a short arm action. He makes accurate throws to the infield with strong throws that have life. Anthony sets up slightly open at the plate with high and loose hands getting a small load to start the swing. He works to get the barrel on plane making consistently hard contact with a line drive approach. On the mound, Anthony showed a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. He starts square on the rubber and works to separate his hands on time with a loose arm action accelerating to the target hard. His finish is in line with good stride length. As Anthony continues to grow into his body his game will advance and develop.

06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Anthony is a coachable OF/LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series. He has a quick exchange with a quick release on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Anthony shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm action and extends through on his release, remaining inline towards the plate. Anthony shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 65mph. Breaking ball sits from 57-60mph with sharp 1-7 break. With five more years to develop, Anthony has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
