01/30/2021 - Winter Pro Training Experience - Nor Cal (HS - Jan) Arch continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he continues to shine as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground with his foot quickness (7.32 60 time). At the plate, shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing, stays inside the ball and utilizes all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/25/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Arch is a lean, athletic OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and utilizes his quick feet (7.28 60 time) to cover a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, he shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71 mph. Fastball showed good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Arch has the makings of a special type player as he continues to improve his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
