03/26/2023 - National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Arthur continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.95 with accuracy / carry (83 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Arthur is an athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in 2.16 range with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with excellent power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 2 years to further develop, Arthur has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
