09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Ashdon is a 2B prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. In the infield he shows athletic actions and has active feet. He closes distance on batted balls with ability to pick out hops. He fields from an athletic fielding position and has a low funnel. He made consistent throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 73mph. At the plate he hits from an upright and closed stance. Small hand load with knob to C and gets his elbow in slot. He hits into a firm frontside and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He squared up balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph during his round of BP. With another year of development, Ashdon should have opportunities to play at the next level.

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Ashdon is a 2024 MIF prospect. Defensively, he stayed down on the ball and displayed accuracy throwing the ball to first. By presenting his glove early and more out front he could field ground balls with ease. At the dish, he sits in his legs with a square stance. He shows a simple load with a flat stroke where he makes solid contact. Ashdon could benefit from pushing off his backside more to provide more power in his swing. With continued skill development, Ashdon shows upside as a prospect.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Ashdon is an athletic SS prospect who showcased his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. At SS, Ashdon fields in a low position and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Presenting his glove out in front to the ball can help Ashdon field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a soft stride. He gets into a simple load and works through a level swing, producing solid contact. Ashdon can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. Overall, Ashdon is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
