01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ashten is a 2027 SS/RHP prospect who recently showcased his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. In the field, he starts in an athletic stance pre-pitch and shows off quick, active footwork. He has good feel for the position and shows off agile range to all sides. He gets in a low fielding position and does a nice job of fielding the ball out in front while doing a good job of reading hops. He has a quick, clean exchange and makes accurate throws to his targets from multiple arm slots while creating momentum with his throws to his targets. At the plate, he starts in a squared stance and gets an activated load with a short, squared stride towards the pitcher. He is very controlled in the box and does a great job of working through the ball with his lower half. He has a nice, on-plane swing path and shows off fast bat speed. He has good coordination with his hips and hands and is able to make hard contact to the gaps. He improved on his previous mark with a 77 MPH exit velo. In game action, he reached base in 4 of 7 plate appearances with 2 singles and a walk. On the mound, Ashten has a confident setup and good poise. He does well to gather his balance over the rubber and has a relaxed knee lift. He gets on-time separation and shows off a clean arm action. He does a great job of staying in-line to his target when driving to the plate and finishes strong with his chest over his front knee. He struck out 5 in 3 innings of game action and allowed only one hit. Overall, we are excited to see more of Ashten as he continues to develop his baseball skills!
