02/18/2024 - National Showcase - Honolulu, HI Ashton is SS/OF who will graduate in 2028. A young/developing player who continues to show improvement in all areas of his game. At SS he shows quick and fluid footwork. He works right to left and fields from an athletic and low fielding position. Has a low funnel and creates momentum to his target. Shows a quick release and made accurate throws across diamond. In the OF he runs good routes to baseball and stays behind the ball. Made on-line throws through his cutoff man. At the plate he hits from a crouched stance. Has a balanced setup and keeps his hands inside the baseball. During his round of BP, he made contact to the pull side. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Ashton making huge strides on the baseball field.

06/23/2023 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series Ashton is a 2028 2B/OF out of Lihue, HI who showcased his skills during the BF Select Training at The College World Series. In the infield he shows good baseball fundamentals with a high baseball IQ. He fields from an athletic/low fielding position with soft hands out front. Shows ability to throw from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 71mph. At the plate he hits from an athletic and open stance with comfortable hands. Has a good approach with plus barrel control. In live game action he reached base 3 times with a single and 2 base on balls. Ashton showed good instincts on the basepaths with good dirt ball reads. He's very coachable and a hard worker. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
