01/18/2013 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Austin is an athletic 2B/RHP that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work loose / free to the plate through a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 77-79 mph with arm side run. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a solid feel for with arm side run. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Feet are active / aggressive as he works to square balls up and keep in front displaying sure hands. He needs to attack balls more, present hands more out front, and improve foot quickness to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but needs build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Cameron shows a balanced setup. Hands are loose / smooth and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields and improve bat speed. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more through the swing. At the event, he was 2 for 6 with a 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays hard with a lot of hustle. Austin has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
